About the role



You will be responsible for the effective roll out of the first full year of Step Forward, a new offering for the Step into Dance programme in the form of a short dance taster programme suitable for young people aged 11-18 with little-to-no dance experience, delivered in secondary schools and youth clubs across London and Essex as part of our mission to widen participation in the wider Step into Dance programme. This is a fixed term opportunity until 31st July 2026.

As a Step Forward Programme Officer you will be

:

Creating and implementing a participation recruitment plan to secure groups and ensure their continued participation in future programmes Working with the Step into Dance Communications and Engagement Officer to develop relationships with new and existing partners and creating programme copies for websites and social media Working with the Step into Dance Programme Manager to organise training for Step into Dance freelance practitioners Leading the full booking process for the Step Forward programme Leading on the full evaluation of the pilot of the Step Forward Programme and suggest programme developments Keeping accurate financial records for project area and ensure the project is delivered within budget Carrying out visits to prospective schools and youth groups to solicit signups and visiting sessions to monitor delivery

Our ideal candidate will have:



Experience of motivating, working with and developing relationships with external stakeholders Experience and/or knowledge of working with Secondary schools and youth organisations Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects for reporting purposes Experience of working within project budgets Understanding of different dance genres Enthusiasm and commitment to improving the lives of young people through the arts A willingness to work weekends and evening as per the needs of the role and travel to Schools and Youth Organisations across London and Essex
