Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Stand in Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to elderly residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with residents to assist them with daily activities and contribute to their overall quality of life. Your leadership skills will be vital in supervising junior staff and collaborating with healthcare professionals to implement effective care plans.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance. Develop and maintain individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure a high standard of care. Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices in senior care. Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in health status. Drive residents to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport. Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills in IT systems used for care documentation. Administration of medication

Skills

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and colleagues. Leadership abilities to supervise staff and foster a positive working environment. Experience in senior care or a related field is highly desirable. Proficiency in developing care plans that cater to individual resident needs. Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting residents when required. Familiarity with IT systems for managing care documentation is beneficial. A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and understanding.

Pay: 12.50-13.50 per hour
