Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Stevedore/Shunter driver to join our team at the port of Scrabster. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of ro-ro cargo from MV Hamnavoe as it performs its daily timetable, ensuring that all customer property is handled safely and effectively. This role requires someone of a good practical disposition with some experience in handling machinery and the movement of articulated loads. LGV experience would be ideal, however a road going LGV licence is not necessary if the candidate has knowledge of trailer manouvering and large machinery. Full training will be provided.

Duties will include

Working under the direction of supervisor to ensure efficient turnaround of the vessel Handling of vessels mooring lines Loading and discharge of trailers using Tugmaster (shunter) units Full compliance with safe working practices

Qualifications

Physically fit and able bodied. In possession of a full driving licence Comfortable with large vehicles and the moving of articulated loads (LGV licence not necessary but would be an advantage) A flexible team player who gets along with colleagues.
Working hours centre around the vessels timetable and operate on a 4 days on/2 days off rota. Summer shifts are approximately 0730-0900, 1230-1400 and 1800-1930 for which a full time wage is paid.
