We are currently recruiting for a

Night

Team Stewarding Supervisor

to join our Stewarding teamat the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa.


The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh's financial and tourist area and is one of Scotland's leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel in the city with 269 bedrooms, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities with a capacity of up to 500 and the award winning One Square Restaurant. Additionally the hotel operates the award winning One Spa(TM), one of Europe's premier advanced city spas.


Role:




The position's purpose is to provide direction, supervision and management to the Stewarding department in order to maximize the quality of service and hygiene provided in the kitchen and back of house areas. It also has the purpose to supervise, enhance and develop the associate restaurant in order to maintain the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness of this operation. Working 32 hours per week on a 4 shifts per week basis. The role includes a 20% night premium in addition to the salary


Essential Functions




Time management and rostering of Stewarding and Associates Restaurant. Supervision and development of standards in both areas Ensuring adequate supplies of food for staff feeding Has a good working knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety, COSHH regs. Training & development of associates within Stewarding and the associates restaurant. Undertake regular performance reviews and goal setting exercises with both teams Upkeep and maintenance of the Stewarding, kitchen and associate restaurant equipment inc. cleanliness, hygiene, repair etc Providing excellent internal customer service to the hotel kitchen brigade, enabling them to develop quality and consistency of food production and presentation in all restaurants and banqueting areas.

Requirements:




Employ safe working practices and observe manual handling guidelines To observe hotel codes of conduct at all times To project a positive, professional image for yourself and your department To undertake all responsibilities in a dutiful manner and to be as efficient and productive as possible Maintain integrity and confidentiality of colleagues, business and guests Significant management experience in similar operation for minimum 1-2 years OR Assistant in a larger operation for a minimum of 1 year Operational supervisory experience of a team in large scale Food & Beverage Outlet Significant experience with Health & Safety and Food Safety Regulations. Significant experience with Excel, Microsoft Word and outlook.
