PIC is looking for a PMO Delivery Specialist to partner with the Portfolio and Project Managers in Investments. PIC's projects are grouped in capabilities, with a portfolio manager overseeing each. The PMO specialist will be embedded in the Investments capability and will work closely with the portfolio manager and project managers to ensure the safe, efficient and successful delivery of change outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The STO Specialist - Central is a senior-level portfolio management expert embedded in PIC's Strategic Transformation Office (STO). This role is pivotal in enabling enterprise-wide change, providing oversight, insight, and foresight across PIC's change agenda. It blends hands-on delivery leadership with portfolio-level strategic management, and requires deep expertise in PMO, portfolio governance, and enterprise transformation.
This position is dual-faceted:
Transformation leadership - accountable for driving and embedding key elements of PIC's enterprisewide Change Transformation across 2025-2026, and leading the ongoing continuous improvement roadmap that follows.
Business-as-usual (BAU) excellence - overseeing and evolving core portfolio functions including strategic prioritization, pipeline governance, benefits tracking, quality assurance, and insight reporting. Reporting to the Head of the Strategic Transformation Office, and working closely with the Executive Committee (ExCo) and Portfolio Steering Group (PSG), this role holds significant influence in enabling PIC to execute its strategy through effective portfolio decision-making.
Requirements
Knowledge, experience, skills and abilities
Experience of supporting and assuring programs and projects within a financial services environment ideally with knowledge of the regulators (PRA and FCA).
Technical
Knowledge of a range of portfolio management methodologies including waterfall, agile, and hybrid models of change within an Investments environment
Knowledge of enterprise and delivery PMO best practice
Experience of working with PPM tools, ideally ServiceNow
Experience of creating and rolling out new processes, including training and comms materials
Personal
Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
Pragmatic and hands on approach. Willing to get involved in writing and creating project materials
Ability to constructively challenge colleagues, and work with them to produce solutions to issues.
Recognise patterns, trends and themes that emerge from different data sources, including their impact on the portfolio
Able to interpret information and produce recommendations and strengthen decision making
Experience working with stakeholders at all levels of the business
Experience in developing sponsor and stakeholder relationships with the ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly
