We are a well-established and growing food manufacturer based in Lancashire, specialising in chilled ready meals. Known for our high-quality products and strong reputation in the sector, we supply major retailers and foodservice customers across the UK. Due to continued expansion, we are creating a new full-time Stock Controller role to support our operations and help us achieve ambitious growth targets.
The Role
As Stock Controller, you will play a key role in managing inventory in our fast-paced chilled food production environment. You will lead a small team, ensure accurate stock levels, oversee goods receipt and issuance, and maintain compliance with health & safety and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Stock Control team, providing guidance and support
Investigate and resolve stock-related discrepancies, maintaining accurate records
Oversee the unloading process, recording details for each consignment and reporting any discrepancies to the Sales Administration team
Receipt goods in line with deliveries and ensure timely communication of issues
Monitor and enforce health & safety procedures within the Inloading team
Operate forklift/pallet trucks to assist with unloading when required (relevant licence preferred)
Liaise directly with the Factory Controller to meet production stock requirements
Issue stock accurately and promptly based on daily planning sheets
Request additional documentation for any stock needed beyond planned requirements
Conduct daily stock counts and update systems/spreadsheets with precise information
About You
Proven experience in a stock control, inventory, or warehouse role within food manufacturing (chilled or FMCG experience highly desirable)
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to multitask effectively in a high-pressure environment
Good communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach
Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach truck) is advantageous
Commitment to health & safety and food hygiene standards
