Job Description

Due to an increase in work we are looking for several Timeserved Stonemasons with heritage experience to carry out work on Churches, Grade I and Grade II Listed Buildings and various other restoration projects throughout the North East of England.

The work will include:

- Construct and repair stone structures such as walls, floors, and monuments

- Repointing, re-bedding of stone and installation of soft capping, all working in lime.
- Lay out patterns and designs according to blueprints or specifications
- Cut, shape, and polish stones using hand tools and power tools
- Mix mortar and grout to secure stones in place
- Ensure proper alignment and levelness of stones
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and roofers, to complete projects

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a stonemason or similar role
- Proficient in welding techniques for stone structures
- Knowledge of carpentry principles for integrating stone with wooden structures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy stones
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address any issues that arise during construction
