Job Description

JOB SUMMARY This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through supporting people, who have a common mental health presentation such as anxiety and/or depression accessing therapy with NHS Barnsley Talking Therapies, to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in their communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals. KEY RESULT AREAS: Specifically, the post holder will: Engage with people who are accessing Therapy within NHS BTT in local communities which have identified health inequalities. Communicate with people about health and health improvement; Work with people to change their behaviour to improve their health.



Manage and organise their time and activities to give smokers support to stop smoking, this may be face to face in group settings or one to ones and over the telephone.
