Job Description

As a Store Detective, you will play a critical role in the safety and security of our retail environment. You will be responsible for observing customer and employee behavior on the sales floor, identifying and investigating suspicious activities, and preventing theft or other criminal acts. Your duties will include monitoring surveillance systems, conducting regular floor patrols, and working discreetly to detect and apprehend shoplifters according to company policies and legal requirements. You will collaborate closely with store management and local law enforcement when necessary, ensuring thorough documentation of incidents and maintaining detailed reports.
The ideal candidate will have excellent observational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Previous experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field is preferred, but not required. You should possess effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, employees, and law enforcement. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications in security or criminal justice are a plus.
