Job Description

We're a successful independent retailer specialising in flooring, carpets, and beds, and we're looking for a motivated and commercially focused Store Manager to help drive our continued success.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the flooring industry who wants a position with real responsibility. You'll be running the day-to-day operations of the store while taking the lead on sales performance, customer satisfaction, and business development. You'll work alongside two part-time colleagues and take a hands-on approach in managing sales enquiries, measuring jobs, and ensuring a smooth installation process. This also means recruiting and retaining fitters as needed.

Key Responsibilities



Sales Growth & Customer Success

Proactively drive store sales, converting leads into confirmed orders Follow up on all enquiries and ensure no opportunity is missed Carry out home visits to measure and advise on flooring options Guide customers through product choices, giving expert advice on suitability, colours and styles Track weekly and monthly sales performance and look for ways to increase conversion Help shape local marketing and promotions to attract and retain customers

Day-to-Day Operations



Oversee the full process from showroom to installation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Manage stock levels and place customer orders with suppliers Take deposits, process payments, and handle sales admin and invoicing Coordinate with fitters to ensure smooth and timely installations and resolving challenges. Assisting with receiving deliveries which includes lifting and handling of large carpets. Maintain a clean, welcoming and well-presented showroom

Support & Oversight



Work alongside two part-time team members, offering guidance and support Lead by example on customer service, showroom standards, and day-to-day professionalism Ensure all sales activity and customer records are kept up to date using our IT system Monitor and manage key operational tasks such as staff rotas and holiday planning

About You



You have at least 3/4 year's experience in the flooring industry You're confident in sales, with a consultative and customer-first approach You're commercially aware and motivated to help grow the business You're well-organised and comfortable juggling sales, admin, and logistics You can work independently and take ownership of results You're practical, hands-on, and not afraid to get involved in every aspect of the business

Pay: 28,000.00-35,000.00 per year
