Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to lead our fresh fishmongers. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, driving sales, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing stock, production and wastage, maintaining a happy and comfortable work environment whilst ensuring efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership and organisational skills to contribute to the growth and success of our Fresh Fishmongers.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the store team to achieve sales and deliver exceptional customer service. Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and purchasing. Develop and implement sales strategies to maximise revenue and optimise product placement. Recruit, train, and evaluate staff to ensure high levels of performance and professional development. Maintain effective communication with team members, providing clear guidance and support. Organise staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours while managing labour costs. Monitor inventory levels, organise stock replenishment, and oversee stock rotation to minimise loss. Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and tact via phone or in person. Ensure compliance with food/health & safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Skills

Experience in areas of the fish trade is essential. Extensive fish preparation skills required Proven management experience within a retail environment, ideally in retail management or sales management roles. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Excellent communication skills Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Experience in merchandising, stock control, and administrative duties related to retail operations. Exceptional time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. Previous supervisory experience with a focus on team management and staff development is essential. Outstanding phone etiquette and organisational skills for effective customer interactions.
