Store Manager, NIFPO Chandlery Store, Kilkeel Harbour
The Northern Ireland Fish Producers' Organisation Ltd (NIFPO) was formed in 1975 to represent NI fishermen, to support our fishing communities and to safeguard the future of NI fishing for future generations.
Our 3 chandlery stores in the main fishing ports of Kilkeel, Ardglass and Portavogie supply the Northern Irish fishing fleet and visiting boats with items they need to keep their vessels operating, from gloves to fishing nets. They also act as a local general store for DIY supplies and local trade supplies. We also sell online via our chandlery website www.marinechandlerysupplies.com
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead our Kilkeel store and online sales. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing website sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance.
This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively. As a Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers while achieving store goals.
Duties
Oversee daily store operations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Manage and supervise staff, providing training and development to enhance team performance.
Drive sales through effective merchandising strategies and promotional activities both instore and online.
Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Monitoring of stock will be required to ensure product availability.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Maintain an organised and clean store building and environment.
Although mainly based in Kilkeel, occasional work in our stores in Ardglass and Portavogie will be required to cover leave and other absences.
Skills and experience
Strong leadership abilities with proven experience in management and supervising teams.
Experience working in a retail environment with retail management experience desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and staff.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficient in administrative tasks, including scheduling, reporting, and record keeping.
Professional phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries and communications efficiently.
Experience in managing web sales not essential but desirable.
A full driving licence is required plus access to a vehicle.
