Bigjigs Toys is a fast paced wooden toy wholesaler supplying a fantastic range of traditional toys into independent toy & gift shops and direct to consumers. Started in 1985 by Peter & Liz Ireland the company has grown from a garden shed outfit into a multinational operation supplying goods to shops in over 40 countries around the world.
What we are looking for - Someone with Supply Chain experience looking to take the next step in their career into a varied and exciting role. You will have experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain role and will have confidence in working with forecasts, placing orders and communicating clearly with suppliers. You will be a strong IT user, able to learn new software quickly and are excellent working with spreadsheets and data. Experience working with Sage 200 would be ideal, knowledge of any ERP would be useful. You will be a problem-solver with an analytical mind, happy to multi-task, prioritise and work as part of a great team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will have responsibility for :
Forecasting, stock planning, placement of purchase orders and communication with suppliers
Working with the sales team and other departments to identify changes in demand and maintain excellent inventory availability
Movement of stock between main and external warehouses and stock reconciliation between warehouses
Maintaining stock arrival dates within the system and communicating stock information to the wider business
Assisting the warehouse manager with capacity and workload planning
Planning deliveries, providing clearance instructions and liaising with freight forwarders/hauliers
The maintenance of product data within the system. Creation of new items, populating weights, dimensions, age and barcode information. Using this data to create product reports for customers and sales managers
This is a key role within a hard working team and as such it is important that you will be a strong team player, with a positive and enthusiastic outlook who is flexible to respond quickly to changing needs and priorities.
The successful candidate will:
Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and ability to learn new systems & software. In time, we'd be looking for you to become a Sage 200 expert
1-2 years experience in supply chain environment
Analytical mindset
Ability to work independently and seek assistance when required
Experience of working with suppliers in Asia and dealing with shipping documentation would be a bonus.

Hybrid working - must be within reasonable commuting distance of our Folkestone office, 2 days working from home and 3 days working at the office once probation period/training is successfully completed.
We offer 20 days holiday per year plus an extra day for every 2 years of service given to the company (up to a maximum of 5 extra days). 8 Statutory bank holidays are in addition to these 20 days.
This is a full time Mon-Fri role, 40 hours per week. Hybrid home and office-based working (3 days office, 2 days home)
