We are a well-established CNC machine shop specialising in precision engineering and are seeking an experienced and highly organised

Storeman / Production Planner

to play a key role in material control, production planning, and scheduling using our ERP system.

This position is critical to ensuring jobs are fully prepared, materials are available, and production schedules are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Stores & Inventory

Receive, inspect, and manage materials Maintain accurate inventory levels and location control within the ERP system Conduct regular stocktakes and manage reordering to avoid shortages or delays Ensure stores and staging areas are organised, labelled, and production-ready

Production Planning & Scheduling

Plan and schedule jobs in line with production capacity and customer delivery dates Use the ERP system to manage job orders, and material requirements Ensure materials are available ahead of scheduled work Prepare and kit jobs for machinists according to the production schedule Monitor job progress and update schedules as required to manage priorities Identify potential material or capacity constraints and proactively resolve issues Liaise closely with machinists, supervisors, and management to optimise workflow

ERP & Systems

Maintain accurate job, stock, and scheduling data within the ERP system Generate reports related to inventory, job status, and production planning Support continuous improvement of planning, scheduling, and stock control processes

About You:

Proven experience in a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment Strong understanding of CNC production workflows and job scheduling Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems for planning and inventory control Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Confident communicator able to coordinate between production, purchasing, and management Forklift licence desirable but not essential
