Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Stores Person to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting the efficient operation of our Stores through materials handling, inventory management, and logistical support. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in warehouse environments, possess mechanical aptitude, and be comfortable operating equipment such as forklifts. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a fast-paced logistics setting.

Responsibilities

Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts and manual handling techniques Assist with shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate and timely dispatch of products Organise stock within the warehouse, maintaining accurate records using warehouse management systems Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies or damages - Stock Check to be carried out every quarter (non negotiable) Support materials handling tasks, including moving goods across different areas of the warehouse Operate mechanical equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency Assist with general maintenance tasks related to warehouse operations

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control Valid forklift licence or experience operating forklifts safely is highly desirable Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and manual movement of goods Experience in shipping & receiving processes, including documentation and compliance requirements Construction or heavy industry background is advantageous for understanding complex logistics tasks Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment with attention to safety standards
This role is integral to maintaining smooth warehouse operations, supporting timely deliveries, and ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.47 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
