Job Description

The Stores Person is a crucial role within our factory, responsible for the efficient management of all incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate inventory control, and supporting production operations.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:



Receiving and Inspection:

Receive deliveries of raw materials, components, and other supplies, unload with forklift trucks where required. Verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips. Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.

Storage and Inventory Management:

Organize and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper labelling and identification. Maintain accurate inventory records using the company's inventory management system (training provided). Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

Picking and Issuing:

Pick and issue materials to production departments based on production schedules and requests. Prepare materials for dispatch, including packaging and labelling, load with forklift trucks where required.

General Housekeeping and Safety:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stores environment. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely, Counterbalance and Reach truck licences required, overhead crane training may be provided. Assist with the disposal of waste materials. Assist with other warehouse/factory duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:



Experience:

Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment is required.

Skills:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent numeracy skills. Ability to manage space, adjusting stock where required to optimize racking/floor capacity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems (required). Counterbalance and Reach Forklift certification (required).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to

25 kg

). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Manual dexterity.

A 4 day working week with no weekend working. 40 hour week: Monday to Thursday 7.15am - 5.45pm including half an hour unpaid lunchtime. Death in Service.
