The Hospitality Department of the Property Division are responsible for operating various cafes, restaurants, bars and events located across all their Campuses to provide affordable and high-quality food and services for the Imperial community and external clients. They create a valuable resource for Imperial, which in turn supports our academic community of world leaders in the provision of Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Business Management, Research and Teaching.



We are looking for an experienced Stores and Distribution Team Leader who will be responsible for supporting, deputising for and assisting the Stores and Distribution Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Central Stores area, the Stores Team.


What you would be doing

In this role, you will support the daily operations of the Stores and Distribution Team, helping to manage deliveries, collections and the safe movement of goods across campus. You will execute floor plans and assist in catering services when needed to ensure that events, exams and hospitality activities are set up on time and in compliance with Imperial and departmental procedures, health, safety, and hygiene legislation.



Your role will ensure all venues and furniture/equipment are clean and safe by conducting routine checks and reporting any issue with service/collection. You will also be supervising and supporting new or agency staff, ensuring a courteous and efficient service to all customers across Imperial.


What we are looking for

Basic Food Hygiene Qualification Previous experience working in a similar catering and events environment, and manual handling role An understanding and responsible attitude of the importance of health & safety at work and associated regulations/legislative requirements Physically able to use and operate different equipment/machinery and lift objects of varying loads A command of verbal English to be able to understand basic instructions and communicate effectively with customers, staff, students and visitors Excellent organisational and time management skills to deliver an efficient and effective service Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about customer care/service with the ability to work with a variety of personalities at all levels Tact and diplomacy to deal with people in all circumstances in a professional manner Ability to use own initiative with limited supervision, and deal with problems which may hinder the delivery of an effective service A flexible approach to work, with willingness to work a 5 over 7-day shift pattern including evenings and weekends, and responding to emergencies as required, across all Imperial sites
