The Stores Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop and race team logistics by managing parts, tools, and consumables. You'll assist with stock control, goods in/out, and ensure that engineers have the right components at the right time - both in the workshop and at events.
This is a hands-on position that suits someone with strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and an interest in motorsport engineering.
Key Responsibilities
-Receive, check, and record deliveries of parts, materials, and consumables
-Accurately log and label stock items in the stores management system
-Issue components and consumables to engineers and technicians as required
-Maintain stock levels and support reordering process to prevent shortages
-Assist in kitting up parts for builds, race events, or testing programs
-Prepare and pack equipment, tools, and spares for race or test events
-Keep the stores area clean and organised
-Assist with stock audits and cycle counts
-Liaise with supplies and couriers to coordinate deliveries and returns
-Support other workshop and logistics activities as needed, particularly during busy race periods
Skills and Experience
Essential:
-Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or logistics role (engineering or motorsport environment preferred)
-Strong organised skills and attention to detail
-Competent using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
-Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small team
-Physically fit and capable of manual handling (with appropriate training)
