Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Stores Assistant to play a vital role in our warehouse and stores operations on a part-time basis. This position involves a mix of administrative tasks, physical handling, and collaborative teamwork to ensure smooth inventory flow and order fulfilment. The role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is comfortable with manual labour. Full product training will be provided, including hands-on instruction in building, disassembling, and servicing our propellers and related components.

This is a part-time opportunity offering flexible hours (15-25 hours per week, to be agreed upon)

Key Responsibilities



Receive and book in incoming items accurately, using inventory management systems to update stock records. Pack and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all items are securely packaged and labelled.
Operate the forklift to safely move and store heavy or bulky items within the warehouse.

Process and despatch shop orders efficiently, coordinating with internal teams to meet deadlines. Assist with despatching larger items, including loading and coordinating with couriers or transport providers. Assist with stock control activities, such as conducting cycle counts, identifying discrepancies, and organizing warehouse space. Occasionally build, disassemble, or service products as needed, following provided training to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Essential Skills and Attributes:



Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a busy warehouse setting. A hands-on approach and willingness to learn; no prior experience in marine products required, as full training will be given. Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with inventory software and Microsoft Office (training on our systems provided). Excellent teamwork and communication abilities to collaborate effectively with production, procurement, and other departments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate stock records and prevent errors in order processing.

Desirable:



Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics role. Knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands



This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25kg (with team assistance for heavier loads), stand for extended periods, and manoeuvre in a warehouse setting. Candidates must be comfortable with manual handling tasks and able to work in a workshop environment that may involve exposure to tools, machinery, and varying temperatures.
