Reporting to: Works Supervisor/Manager

Responsible for:

Working alongside another trained Stores person, dealing with the day-to-day control of our busy Stores department.

Having a key eye for detail, being accurate regarding the counting and being able to work independently on specific job tasks.

Following established booking in and out processes whilst ensuring always that care is taken to work safely.

Regular liaison and feedback to the Production Manager & Purchaser as dictated by the workload and picking lists.

Identifying and organising locations of parts at various stages in the production process, loading on and off of stillages and co-ordinating the parts in the two upright storage conveyors.

Ensuring effective communication with colleagues and building good rapport with the departments you are supporting.

Learning to identify the componentry that make up the kit of parts.

Maintaining accurate information on stock levels and advising shortfalls in a timely manner.

Updating information daily on Tricorn to ensure that Production has the most up-to-date information.

Manual handling, operating lift trucks and other equipment dictated by the task.

Always adopting a pro-active approach to the jobs at hand, being organised and able to think on your feet.

Visually checking stock items for quality issues when received into Stores either from Sub-Contractors or if they are manufactured in-house.

Operating the cleaning machines as dictated by workflow.

Any other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Key Skills Required

1) A good general engineering background

2) Ability to organise and work under pressure

3) Effective communicator and a pro-active approach

4) Computer literacy & Accurate with figures

5) A good level of fitness.

Ideal Hours of work:

8.00a.m. - 4.30p.m. Monday to Thursday with a 3.30p.m. finish on Friday, however timings could be flexible. Total hours per week 39.

Depending on experience
