ScotRail is offering an exciting opportunity for you to join our flexible engineering team. Our four Maintenance Depots and In-Service Fleet Engineering (ISFE) teams are strategically located across Scotland and are responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of both diesel & electric trains to ensure they remain fully operational and provide a reliable service for our customers.
Working as part of our team at Inverness Depot the Stores Keeper will play a vital role in delivering safe, reliable, and well-presented trains. The Stores Keeper will carry out a range of storekeeping activities that are essential to supporting our maintenance operations.
Your primary responsibility as a Storekeeper will be to ensure the safe delivery, storage, and disposal of maintenance materials, oils, chemicals, and equipment. You will accurately complete all stock issues, checks, and transactions, ensuring full compliance with Stores Instructions and Depot Safety & Quality Procedures.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
Previous experience working in an engineering or manufacturing stores environment.
Familiarity with engineering components, tools, and technical drawings.
Experience using stock control systems and software.
Understanding of goods-inwards, inspection, and issue procedures
Experience maintaining accurate inventory records and carrying out stock audits.
Awareness of COSHH and basic health & safety procedures within an engineering or industrial setting.
Comfortable using computer systems.

Hours of work: A rotating shift cycle, which involves day and night shift. Weekend working is compulsory. The working week will be an average of 35 hours.
Reference salary 47,489 per annum, Training salary 42,754 per annum.
