The Role:

Welin Lambie Ltd is a leading UK based designer, manufacturer and service provider of davits, winches and lifting appliances for the global marine and offshore industry.



We are currently seeking a

Stores Operative

to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our stores ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of stores materials, goods and products to feed business operations and customer demand.



The role will be based in person at our facility in Brierley Hill.



Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7.30 am 4.30 pm and Friday, 7.30 am 1.30 pm (40 hours per week).



Annual leave entitlement is 25 days plus bank holidays.

General

Duties/Key

Responsibilities:

Take delivery of goods and supplies. Check for damaged or missing items. Store goods appropriately. Pick and pack orders for despatch. Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck. Load goods for despatch. Ensure delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production standards. Input data regarding stock and inventory into a computerised MRP system. Keep accurate stock records using a computerised MRP system. Carry out stock counts as and when required. Keep paperwork up to date. Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products are carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures. Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency. Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value. Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.

Previous Experience:

Experience and knowledge of MRP computerised systems. Previous work experience in a Stores/Warehouse position. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Forklift Licence would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.

Person Specification:

Excellent numeracy and IT skills. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy. Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. * Flexible approach to duties and tasks.
