Job Overview

The Stores Operative is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and issue of electronic components, materials, and finished goods. The role supports production and dispatch by ensuring accurate stock control, safe material handling, and timely availability of parts.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and book in electronic components, materials, and finished goods Store items correctly, ensuring ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and handling procedures are followed Pick, kit, and issue materials to production in line with work orders Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and support full stock takes Maintain accurate stock records using ERP or inventory management systems Prepare goods for dispatch, including packing and labelling Ensure traceability of components where required (batch/lot control) Identify and report stock discrepancies or damaged goods Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment Comply with health & safety, quality, and company procedures at all times
Skills & Experience

Essential:

Experience working in a stores, warehouse, or manufacturing environment Basic computer skills (ERP/MRP systems desirable) Good attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow procedures and work instructions Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

Experience within an electronics manufacturing environment Knowledge of ESD handling requirements Forklift licence (or willingness to be trained) Understanding of lean or 5S principles
