The ideal candidate will be responsible for packing and placing parts into storage, ensuring all stock is properly organised, and supporting the efficient flow of materials within the company. The role also requires the ability to drive a long wheelbase vehicle for deliveries and collections as needed.
The role of Stores Operative:
Pack, label, and store parts in designated areas.
Ensure all parts and materials are correctly identified, logged, and stored safely.
Assist with inventory checks and stock audits as required.
Ensure parts are easily accessible for engineers and other team members when needed.
Pick orders for parts and materials based on production requirements.
Pack and prepare materials for dispatch in a safe and efficient manner.
Drive a long wheelbase vehicle to deliver and collect parts and materials from suppliers, clients, and other company locations.
Ensure safe transportation of materials and compliance with all driving regulations.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and update the team on delivery schedules.
Follow all health and safety guidelines when handling, storing, and transporting materials.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
Assist the team with general stores duties, including unloading deliveries and storing goods.
Perform basic administrative tasks related to stock control and delivery documentation.
Assist with any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Warehouse or Supply Chain team.
The ideal Stores Operative:
Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment is desirable.
Ability to safely drive a company vehicle (likely a long wheelbase) is a must.
Experience in stock management, order picking, and packing is an advantage.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and suppliers.
Basic knowledge of inventory management systems (or willingness to learn).
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (manual handling).
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
A flexible approach to work and willingness to assist with other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Full, clean driving license (for long wheelbase vehicle).
Forklift license (desirable but not essential).
Health and safety training (desirable but not essential).
