The role
As a Stores Operator, you'll be at the heart of operations that support vital army training exercises. You'll play a key role in ensuring that accommodation and equipment are ready and available for course arrivals, helping to maintain the smooth running of military training programmes. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and organisational skills will make a real difference to our mission and your career development.
Day-to-day you'll be:
Preparing accommodation for incoming training courses
Issuing stores and equipment to support training operations
Maintaining clean, tidy, and serviceable store areas
Managing issues, demands, receipts, and stock replenishment
Keeping accurate records and paperwork for stores accounts
Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
The role is based onsite at Chatham, Monday - Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Stores Operator:
Physically fit and capable of manual handling, including lifting furniture
Confident using Microsoft Office Suite
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
Able to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation
Strong team player with good communication skills
Qualifications for the Stores Operator:
Full UK Driving Licence
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
