Gowercroft Joinery are a local joinery manufacturer of high-end timber windows and doors, and we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Storeman to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient management of stock, ensuring inventory is accurately received, stored, and dispatched. You will play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly and maintaining a well-organised warehouse environment.
Duties
Assist the building department by picking items for the orders in order to be fitted in accordance with the production schedule
Maintain accurate stock levels through stocking, picking, and packing goods efficiently
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (training provided if necessary) to handle materials safely and effectively
Manage shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading deliveries
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the storage areas
Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
Requirements
Mechanical knowledge or experience with construction tools is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stocking, load & unload activities, or materials handling
Valid forklift licence or willingness to obtain one through company training programmes
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
