Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Stores Person for our warehouse operations within our Blyth manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient raw material management, carrying out and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and support the Stores Team Leader in maintaining full compliance with UK regulatory and safety standards.
A strong background in MRP system operations and warehouse process optimisation is essential.
The main responsibilities of the role will include:
Carry out day-to-day warehouse operations including goods receiving, storage, inventory management and dispatch. Operate and optimize the use of MRP/ERP systems to ensure accurate stock control and material traceability. Support in the development and implementation of warehouse procedures that align with lean principles and continuous improvement objectives. Ensure Compliance with all relevant UK regulations including Health and Safety, environmental standards and industry specific requirements. Maintain and enforce appropriate documentation and record keeping for audits and inspections. Monitor and report on KPI's such as inventory accuracy, picking accuracy and on time shipments. Manage Spare Part inventory and carry out bi-annual stock checks. Liaising with offsite storage facilities and ports to deliver raw material supply to the Blyth Warehouse / manufacturing plant.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in warehouse or industrial supply chain and will be proficient in using and managing MRP/ERP systems.
It is essential to possess a strong understanding of regulatory compliance related to warehousing, HSE and product traceability, along with excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. It would be desireable for the successful candidate to hold a forklift licence and/or experience operating material handling equipment and knowledge of Lean / 6S principles.
