Job Summary:
We are seeking an organised and reliable Stores Person to manage the day-to-day operations of our busy stores department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and issuing of all parts and materials required for our production and service activities, ensuring stock accuracy and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving, inspecting, and booking in all incoming goods against purchase orders.
Accurately locating and storing parts in their designated locations.
Picking and preparing parts kits for production works orders in a timely manner.
Processing requests from service engineers, picking and packing parts for breakdowns and services.
Handling sales orders by picking, packing, and despatching goods to customers.
Conducting regular stock checks and assisting with the annual stocktake.
Maintaining the accuracy of the computerised stock control system.
Ensuring the stores area is kept clean, tidy, and organised in line with health and safety policies.
Serving at our trade counter for customer and engineer collections.
About You (Essential Requirements):
Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or stock control role.
Experience using a computerised stock control system and proficiency with Microsoft software.
A good standard of general education, including Maths and English (GCSEs or equivalent).
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
A proactive and positive "can-do" attitude.
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Physically able to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting and carrying.
Desirable, but not essential:
Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
An NVQ or similar qualification in Warehousing and Storage.
What We Offer:
A competitive salary of 27,000 - 28,000, depending on experience.
Working hours: 07:30 - 16:30, Monday to Friday.
