Stores Person / Driver

Job Purpose

The Storeman / Driver is responsible for the safe transport, storage and issue of tools, materials and plant equipment. The role involves nationwide deliveries and collections, with a particular focus on driving in Central London. The successful candidate will ensure stock is well managed in the yard and warehouse and that equipment is delivered safely and on time to support site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, check and record deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes Organise and maintain stores, ensuring tools, equipment and consumables are secure and well kept Load, secure and deliver plant and materials to sites across the country, including frequent trips into Central London Carry out collections of plant and tools from project sites, ensuring equipment is checked and recorded on return Perform vehicle and trailer pre-use checks, reporting any defects promptly Comply with ULEZ and other driving regulations for Central London Safely manoeuvre large vehicles and trailers in restricted or congested areas Assist with loading and unloading at both warehouse and site locations Keep accurate records of stock movements and deliveries using manual or computerised systems Support stock counts and general warehouse duties when not on delivery runs

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics role Valid UK driving licence with B+E (trailer) entitlement (essential) Strong driving experience in Central London, including confidence navigating restricted areas and heavy traffic Knowledge of load securing and safe trailer operation IT literacy for stock and delivery tracking

Working Hours and Benefits

Standard working hours:

08:00 - 16:00 (8 hours per day)

Company vehicle included for work purposes - personal use Overtime or early starts may be required occasionally depending on delivery schedules
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 32,000.00 per year
