Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and diligent stores person and driver to join a busy engineering business in Bedford MK41 9TJ

Duties

Assist in stock management, organisation of stock and MRP system [training will be given to the successful candidate] Operate company vehicles for deliveries, including counter balance fork lift trucks, ensuring safe handling at all times Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and safety protocols Conduct vehicle inspections prior to deliveries to ensure mechanical safety and compliance Communicate effectively with team members regarding stock levels, delivery schedules. Support warehouse operations by loading, unloading, and organising stock as required Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness within the workshop and company vehicles

Requirements

Valid driver's licence with experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver along with current counter balance FLT licence [those who have recently expired will also be considered Proven experience in warehouse work or delivery roles is preferred, use of MRP software desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Strong communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members Experience operating 3.5t curtain side vehicles is desirable Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Organised with excellent time management skills to coordinate deliveries efficiently Physical fitness to handle loading, unloading, and long periods of standing or driving
