Stores Team Leader (stores, Goods In/out, Warehouse, Stock)

Belton, Leicestershire, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you an organised and proactive leader with a passion for logistics, stock control, and process improvement? We're looking for a Stores Team Leader to take ownership of our warehouse and support services operations -- ensuring our materials, people, and processes run like clockwork.
As the Stores Team Leader, you'll manage the day-to-day running of our stores and external support technicians. You'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe use of equipment, materials, and personnel, supporting the smooth delivery of services across the site.
Working closely with Procurement, Finance, Facilities, and Health & Safety teams, you'll drive operational excellence, lead process improvements, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop your team to achieve high performance and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
  • Oversee all stores operations -- from order management and goods-in/out to stock accountability and reporting.
  • Ensure all deliveries are received, inspected, and stored correctly, maintaining accurate records and system updates.
  • Conduct regular and monthly stock counts, ensuring physical and system stock levels are aligned.
  • Maintain an 'audit ready' approach at all times, ensuring common areas are clean, safe, and well presented.
  • Support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) and ensure compliance with ISO, AAALAC, and Home Office standards.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance across all stores and operational areas.
  • Manage waste streams on site, ensuring environmental compliance and partnering with waste management providers.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives to build a skilled, engaged, and capable team.
About You:
You'll be an experienced leader from a warehouse, logistics, or stores environment, with excellent communication and organisational skills. You have a strong eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to drive improvements across people and processes.
Essential skills and experience:
  • Proven experience managing stores, goods-in/out, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills.
  • Excellent understanding of stock control, order management, and reporting processes.
  • A commitment to health, safety, and compliance.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Finance, Facilities, H&S).
  • Confident using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office tools.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in a dynamic operational environment where your ideas and leadership will make a real difference. You'll have the autonomy to shape your department, develop your team, and drive efficiencies across our site operations.
