Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Yardperson to join our team, responsible for supporting warehouse operations and ensuring the smooth handling of materials. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining an organised yard environment, assisting with shipping and receiving duties, and operating forklifts. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to develop their skills within a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials using forklifts and manual handling techniques Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and organisation Manage materials movement within the yard, maintaining safety and efficiency standards Operate warehouse management system to track inventory and stock levels Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment, including forklifts and other machinery Support with general yard organisation, including sorting, stacking, and storing items Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or construction environments Proficiency in operating forklift trucks and familiarity with warehouse management systems Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and manual labour Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Experience in shipping & receiving procedures Ability to load & unload efficiently while maintaining safety standards Organised with excellent attention to detail Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
