With such a varied portfolio, there is never a dull day in the Estates Team here at Reading. As well as being responsible for the management and maintenance of the University\'s academic teaching and research buildings, we also care for a significant collection of Champion Trees, an expansive lake and the university SportsPark.

We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to assist the Stores Manager in the smooth running of the Estates Stores, in addition to some general maintenance activities alongside the in-house maintenance Team. This role requires significant liaison with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) Team, the wider Estates team, and departmental support, teaching and research staff.

You will be expected to manage and prioritise your own workload; updating the CAFM system and customers as required, and carry out all work in a safe manner in accordance with university policies and procedures, safe systems of work, and current legislation.

  • IT literate - including Microsoft word, excel and email. Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of building, mechanical & electrical trades, and relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrable customer service skills and the understanding of what is required from a customer facing team.
  • A willingness to work flexibly on several different issues whilst maintaining a high standard of work - working with other teams and on your own.
  • Current full UK driving license.
