As part of our business expansion, we now require a Stores/Procurement Coordinator to work at our Glasgow site.

Job Purpose:

To manage inventory, coordinate procurement activities, and ensure timely availability of materials and components required for production and maintenance operations, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods and materials. Maintain accurate stock levels and update inventory systems. Issue parts and materials to production and engineering teams as required. Source and procure materials, tools, and equipment in line with company policies. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies. Monitor stock usage and forecast future requirements. Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in the stores area. Maintain organised and secure storage areas. Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and inventory management.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in stores, warehousing, or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Basic understanding of procurement processes and supplier management. Forklift licence or manual handling training (desirable). Familiarity with rail industry components or standards (advantageous).

Desirable:

NVQ or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics. Experience working in a regulated industry such as rail, aerospace, or automotive. Understanding of lean inventory practices and cost control.

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
