My client, a well known and respected Manufacturing business, are seeking a Strategic Procurement & Commodity Lead to join the Procurement team at their Chester based office. This opportunity would suit an experienced Procurement professional who is keen to further and develop their career.

Key responsibilities for this Strategic Procurement & Commodity Lead are:

• Full responsibility for a commodity area and management of supplier portfolio for the category
• Achieving cost reductions through successful supplier management and initiatives
• Contract Management, including negotiation and implementation of new supplier contracts and ensuring best value
• Consistently driving improvements in supplier performance throughout the supply chain
• Developing strong strategic partnerships
• Working closely with the planning team to understand trends in demand

Previous experience in a similar role required |Great opportunity to work in a growing business - plus hybrid working!

The successful candidate will be/have:

• Highly motivated individual with previous experience of purchasing within a Manufacturing environment
• An excellent communicator across all levels of internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships
• Strategically minded, with proven track record of commercial savings
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Package
• CIPs qualified is advantageous
