Stopford House, Stockport - Hybrid working available with a requirement to be office-based for a minimum of 2 days per week and a need to be available for face to face meetings as the role demands.

Your Role




The role is wide ranging with unique challenges and opportunities. You will: work closely with senior officers, councillors, developers, residents, businesses and other key stakeholders; Produce transport strategies, policies and reports on a wide range of transport related topics; Develop funding applications for new transport opportunities; and Undertake monitoring and evaluation activities to support reporting on projects and scheme delivery. Working alongside experienced professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary department who will support you to learn and develop your skills. Current areas of work include: Sustainable Transport Scheme Monitoring and Evaluation; Transport Strategy and policy development linked to our ambitious growth agenda and emerging local plan; School Streets Projects; and the move to Digital Traffic Regulation Orders.

About You



Extensive experience in researching, evaluating and writing transport policies and strategies. Experience in contributing to the design, development and delivery of sustainable transport schemes and initiatives. Experience in consultation facilitation. Strong leadership and management skills. Experience in the monitoring and evaluation of transport and highways schemes and projects including GIS based working. A creative approach to problem-solving. An organised approach to work and meeting deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with varied audiences, including members of the public. A professional approach, and the aptitude to work on your own initiative. Desire to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
