Street Lighting Manager

Job Role

To lead and manage the operational delivery of street lighting services across the Hertfordshire Highways contract, ensuring that all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual obligations, performance indicators, and client expectations. The role includes responsibility for team leadership, planning, health and safety compliance, and operational excellence





Duties

Responsible for the Health and Safety requirements at all levels within the service. Oversee compliance with the contractual requirements and meet KPI's. Manage the budget allocated to meet the requirements of the HCC service brief with no overspend and minimal underspend. Oversee efficiency improvements identified through process analysis and service monitoring, ensuring no reduction in safety, quality and performance. Provide technical support to the HCC Senior Asset manager responsible for the street lighting service. Oversee the management of the design service, providing technical support and guidance to the Principal Engineer and his team. Manage the delivery of the maintenance and refurbishment service provided by the street lighting Contract Manager and his team. Responsible for the support of a DMI checking and acceptance by the Senior Engineer and his team, providing technical support to the HCC DMI Manager Oversee the provision of a resource to enable the installation of Electric Vehicle Charge Points, providing technical support to HCC EVCP Manager. Proactively foster good relations within the "One Service" model. Support LINC and the wider Ringway street lighting service To actively foster a positive staff morale at all levels. To willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management.


Person Specification

City & Guilds electrical installation and testing qualifications HNC Electrical Engineering ILP External Lighting Diploma (would be desirable) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Experience in a street lighting managerial role. Experience working with, or for, local government. Working knowledge of industry compliance schemes, such as the Highways Electrical Registration Scheme and Electrical Inspection Schemes.

Hours: Full Time - 45 - Monday to Friday
