About the role
Are you an experienced electrician looking to make a real impact on your community? Join our Living Places team at Balfour Beatty and help maintain and improve the safety and efficiency of the highway network.
As a Street Lighting Electrician, you'll play a key role in maintaining and installing electrical equipment across the highway network. From street lighting columns to illuminated signage, your work will help keep our roads safe and well-lit.
What you'll be doing
Routine and reactive maintenance of lighting columns, lanterns, bollards, and signs
Electrical fault finding, repairs, and safety inspections
Completing and signing off electrical test sheets
Emergency call-outs and electrical make-safes (including out-of-hours rota)
On-site risk assessments and safety observations
Site traffic and pedestrian management
Installation of equipment to specification
Supporting general maintenance and providing technical assistance to clients
Who we're looking for
Essential:
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong communication skills across all levels
Problem-solving ability and efficiency
ECS Card (relevant level)
IPAF 1b + Harness and Fall Arrest training
Emergency First Aid (1 Day)
G39 + 214 Safe Isolation
HEA card
Desirable:
SMSTS or other Health & Safety qualifications
302.1 (12D) Traffic Management
Manual Handling training
