Full-time Strength and Conditioning Coach - BC London Lions (London, UK)
BC London Lions, a professional basketball club based in London, are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our high-performance team. This is a unique opportunity to work with elite athletes in a fast-paced, competitive environment and help shape the physical performance and long-term athletic development of our players.
About the Role
As the Strength and Conditioning Coach, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing strength and conditioning programs for our athletes. You'll work closely with coaching staff and medical personnel to ensure our players perform at their peak while minimizing injury risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead individualised and team-wide strength and conditioning programs.
Conduct performance assessments and track player progress throughout the season.
Collaborate with the Head Coach, physiotherapists, and support staff on athlete readiness and return-to-play protocols.
Deliver in-season and off-season training programs tailored to basketball performance.
Educate athletes on recovery, nutrition basics, and injury prevention techniques.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required: Degree in Strength & Conditioning or Sports Science (Master's preferred).
Required: Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a high-performance sports environment.
Required: Strong understanding of movement mechanics, periodisation, and injury prevention.
Required: Current first aid/CPR certification.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable: UKSCA accreditation (or equivalent, e.g., NSCA CSCS).
Desirable: experience in working with a basketball team
