Role Summary
Install, tension, anchor, and dismantle stretch tents for events and deliver custom, permanent stretch tent installations to engineered specifications. Ensure safety, structural integrity, and high-quality finishes while providing excellent client service on fast-paced event builds and longer-duration permanent projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Install Planning
- Rig and De Rig Stretch Tents
- Interpret drawings, layouts, and load/ballast plans; take accurate measurements.
- toolbox talks and enforce PPE, fall protection, and exclusion zones.
- Comply with local regulations and company guidelines.
- Operate MEWPs, forklifts, and lifting gear within safe working loads; tag and maintain rigging hardware.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and secure sites.
Quality, Maintenance, and Inventory
- Inspect fabrics, seams, and fixings; perform minor repairs/patching and schedule major repairs.
- Clean, dry, and store tents to prolong service life; prevent mold and UV damage.
- Track tools and materials; minimize damage, rework, and loss.
Client and Team Coordination
- Follow management instructions.
- Work as a team.
- Liaise with clients, venues, and trades; manage on-site changes professionally.
- Lead or support crews (if appointed); train junior riggers in safe and efficient methods.
- Provide clear handovers and reports to project managers.(If appointed)
Qualifications and Experience
- 2+ years in tent/marquees, staging, rigging, tensile structures, or related construction; stretch tent experience preferred, but not essential as training will be given.
-Any construction or Building experience.
- Proven event build experience and at least one full-cycle permanent installation preferred.(Not essential as training will be given.)
- Competent reading drawings/CAD layouts and understanding load paths and tensioned membrane behaviour.(not essential as training will be given.)
- Clean driving license; comfortable towing trailers (not compulsory as long as you can get to our yard).
