DV Structural Engineering Ltd is looking for a structural engineer to help grow the business. We are owned and run by an experienced chartered structural engineer with a broad range of clients who trust our expertise and knowledge. We are looking for an engineer to work closely with the Director to manage and deliver an ever-growing stream of work.

Home based with site visits in and around Plymouth / South Devon. This is a family friendly position. Hours open to negotiation i.e. we are open to a full time or part time role (min 10 hours a week, max 37 hours a week). We are open to considering all levels of engineer (graduate to senior) with salary negotiable based on level of experience.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Undertake site inspections to determine structural form of existing structures, within the Greater Plymouth area.

Prepare structural calculations for building control submission and ensure compliance to relevant codes and standards, both through hand calculations and using design software.

Produce structural designs that are cost effective, meet the client's brief and meet project deadlines.

Undertake drawing work to communicate designs to clients / contractors.

Dealing with site queries during construction.

Writing reports following structural inspections.

Manage and maintain client relationships.

Preparing invoices and managing project finances.

The successful candidate will have at minimum, a degree in structural engineering, and we are open to levels from graduate to senior. Therefore, if you have just graduated, or have 5+ years' experience, please get in touch.
