We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer with 2-5 years of relevant post graduate experience to join our dynamic team. As an In-House Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our team, focusing on the design, analysis, and assurance of structural integrity for a range of projects. Leveraging advanced software tools, you will generate detailed calculations and drawings, evaluate load requirements, and resolve structural challenges during construction. Your responsibilities will also include offering technical support, preparing comprehensive project reports, and ensuring adherence to all relevant codes and standards. Success in this role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction materials and methods. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions, collaborating with team members, and delivering high-quality projects within specified deadlines.

At Wild Creations we Design, Manufacture and Install Props & Scenery for the Entertainment, Marketing & Theme Park Industries.

Our 39,000 sq.ft facilities in the heart of Cardiff, UK is home to a number of specialised departments, including Design, Project Management, Sculpting, Prop & Model Making, Moulding & Casting, Carpentry, Metalwork, Scenic Art, Finishing & Spray Shop, and an Automation Shop that can accommodate 3D Scanning & Printing, Vac Forming, Laser Cutting, and CNC Routing - both on flatbeds and on our 7-axis Kuka robot arm.

Responsibilities:



Conduct structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies. Create detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for various structural Projects. Evaluate materials for construction suitability, durability, and cost- effectiveness. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in all design and construction phases. Participate in project meetings, review sessions, and client presentations to communicate progress and address any concerns. Utilise problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges and optimise structural performance. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and support staff. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in structural engineering.

The successful candidate will have:



An accredited Civil Engineering degree (2:1 or higher) Proficiency in structural analysis and design software Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex problems. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary. Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software is a plus. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
