We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in engineering principles and be adept at designing and analysing structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and efficient. This role requires a collaborative mindset, as you will work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties
Undertake structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures
Produce accurate structural calculations and technical reports to support planning and building regulations
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., TEDDS, Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit)
Ensure designs are compliant with current building regulations
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
Relevant Civil or Structural Engineering qualifications
2-5 years of experience
Strong working knowledge of UK building regulations, structural design standards, and construction methods
Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Tedds, Robot, MasterSeries) and AutoCAD/Revit
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple projects
Full UK driving license
Desirable:
Chartered or working towards Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
Experience in residential and light commercial construction
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of structural principles and load-bearing systems for timber, steel, concrete, and masonry construction
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Tekla Tedds, MasterSeries, Robot Structural Analysis, or ETABS
Skilled in producing and reviewing structural calculations, design reports, and technical specifications
Competent in using AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit or other BIM tools for integrating structural details into architectural models
