Our asset management team in the Humber have responsibility for the maintenance, statutory requirements and life cycle of all structures across the 4 ports we operate within the region - this includes bridges, quays, fenders, retaining walls and marine structures. We're currently looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to be based from either Hull or Immingham and provide professional engineering input into inspections, assessments, minor design works, and investment planning, ensuring assets remain safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. You should be degree qualified, ideally chartered, and have some exposure to Marine or Bridge structural engineering.

Accountabilities
Support the Civil Asset Management team in defining and implementing lifecycle strategies for built infrastructure assets, ensuring safety, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability across specification, operation, maintenance, refurbishment, and disposal stages.
Undertake, review, and interpret structural inspections (Including water-based), survey data, and technical reports. Log defects, triage findings, and scope remedial works, converting inspection outputs into prioritised work packages for timely delivery.
Ensure inspections, assessments and design work comply with relevant industry standards including but not limited to CG300, CS450/454 for bridges, PIANC/BS6349 for Marine structures and Eurocodes for bridges
Identify and assess asset risks based on condition and criticality. Contribute to risk registers and intervention strategies, ensuring visibility of high-risk items and supporting mitigation plans in line with corporate assurance requirements.
Carry out structural/civil designs(minor), assessments, and calculations for maintenance and small works. Prepare and review engineering scope, drawings, specifications, and technical scopes, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and statutory requirements.
Assist in defining preventative planned maintenance strategies and task lists. Optimise shutdowns and port windows with Operations, assure RAMS quality, and monitor contractor performance to achieve safety, quality, and schedule objectives.
Skills & Experience Required
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Minimum BEng)
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) accreditation, preferably through ICE or an equivalent professional body, is highly desirable.
Experience in marine structures /bridges or comparable heavy infrastructure
Familiarity with CG300-Technical Approval of Highway Structures
Knowledge of CS450/454 bridge inspection and assessment standards.
Full UK Driving Licence
