About the role


We are looking for dynamic and experienced Structural Design Engineers to support ongoing design development of several luxury projects worldwide focusing on boutique hospitality assets.


This role requires a creative and technical professional who can deliver efficient and innovative structural engineering solutions while maintaining the aesthetic and functional standards expected in luxury developments.


In this role, you will be responsible for structural design development of luxury villas and boutique hotels. You should be able to work independently throughout the day, coordinate with the team when needed, and deliver intermediate results weekly. You will report to a Structural Design Manager, but collaborate with the entire design team, including but not limited to architects, interior designers, MEP engineers, the FF&E procurement team, and client representatives.


To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication and presentation skills, be punctual, detail-oriented, self-organized, and motivated to deliver quality results.

The ideal candidate will have:



Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering Between 5 to 8 years of structural engineering design experience working for a design consultancy or general contractor Experience in high-end hospitality projects, like 5-star hotels and private villas Proven experience in seismic design and earthquake-resistant structures Strong background in structural detailing and construction drawings development

Responsibilities



Design structural systems for luxury villas and boutique hotels, ensuring compliance with local building codes, seismic regulations, and international structural standards Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and MEP engineers to integrate structural elements seamlessly into the overall project design Proactively participate in spatial coordination with architectural and MEP models, research efficient structural methodologies and systems to secure the initial design intent and high-end aesthetic experience Timely resolve structural technical issues and challenges during the design phase Lead the development of detailed structural drawings, technical documentation, and construction specifications using CAD and BIM tools, with the support of BIM modelers Perform structural analysis, load calculations, and seismic design to optimize structural performance and safety Oversee structural material selection and detailing, ensuring it aligns with project requirements, sustainability goals, and seismic performance criteria Provide input during value engineering discussions to achieve the best balance between cost, structural performance, and architectural intent Supervise the structural design development, review and approve deliverables of third party structural consultants, geotechnical engineers, and surveyors Stay updated on the latest structural technologies, seismic design trends, and regulations related to high-end hospitality construction

CV Requirements



Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering 5 to 8 years of experience in structural design consultancy or general contractor Experience working on low-rise residential and hospitality projects - private homes and villas, hotels and resorts Proven experience in seismic design and earthquake-resistant structures Strong background in structural detailing and construction drawings development Excellent communication and presentation skills Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Proficiency in Excel Professional level of English, both written and verbal

Good to have:



Spanish Advanced knowledge of VBA and C# Experience in projects in the Caribbean region
