Structural Engineer - Residential Site Visits (Birmingham)

Full time/Freelance / Part-Time - Flexible Hours

About Us

We are a growing structural engineering practice looking for an experienced Structural Engineer based in or around Birmingham to carry out residential site visits. All scheduling, client communication, and project management are handled by our office -- you simply attend the visits and provide your technical assessment.

Role Responsibilities:

Attend pre-booked site visits for residential properties Inspect structural issues such as cracking, subsidence, beam assessments, and load-bearing wall removals Conduct surveys for loft conversions and extensions Take measurements, site photos, and prepare clear notes/sketches for the design team Communicate findings professionally to clients when required

Requirements:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Experience with residential structural inspections Strong understanding of structural defects and onsite problem-solving Ability to work independently PI insurance preferred (not essential -- can be discussed)
