Your Role:
Lead structural inspections, assessments and design work
across new?build, refurbishment and defect?investigation projects.
Carry out commercial and residential structural surveys, fabric condition reports and quality?control inspections.
Prepare technical reports, structural designs and calculations
suitable for clients, contractors and statutory bodies.
Diagnose structural defects
and produce clear, technically justified remedial options.
Design and detail structural repairs and alterations
using appropriate standards, software and drawing practices.
Undertake Structural Warranty inspections
and ensure compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards.
Support project delivery
from feasibility and tender stage through to site supervision and completion.
Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and local authorities
to resolve technical and regulatory issues.
Mentor staff
and contribute to continuous improvement, training and CPD initiatives.

What We're Looking For:
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
or equivalent field
Chartered status desirable
(CEng, MIStructE, IStructE or equivalent)
Proven experience in structural inspection, assessment, design and remedial specification
Strong knowledge of UK standards
including Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations
Competent in structural calculation software
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Practical site experience
and confident in site supervision and contractor liaison
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Location:
South West, with occasional UK-wide travel.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday -- no weekends (unless preferred); part?time negotiable.
