Project Manager (National Grid)

A role to be the integral lynch pin to a new project team. You will be responsible for workload and KPI management and will reap the rewards of dedicated team. We are flexible on where this person can be based but please be aware that the role requires occasional travel to Leeds.

Job description

  • Review all project delivery programmes and ensure all milestones are managed
  • Review all Standard Operating Processes and other relevant documentation affecting project delivery and ensure compliance
  • Manage any complaints from the CEO of National Grid as well as running the team in line with strict SLA\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Raise and manage all documentation required to enable project delivery and support progress through approval system
  • Manage the team workload day to day to ensure compliance with client timeline and challenges
  • Prepare reports from various process systems to support the business cycle of progress and financial reporting
  • Prepare presentations to explain initiatives to clients and other continuous improvements
  • Attend all formal meetings with surveyors and Client to drive the process and business cycle reporting
  • Prepare and manage critical communications from internal teams to clients and manage stakeholder engagement
  • Be the main point of contact for all ad-hoc queries
  • Develop relationships with Client and stakeholders at Senior Level
  • Understand the requirements for Purchase Order management
  • Provide a systemic approach to maintaining the workload of the internal teams, ensuring that a structured format for all aspects of the job cycle is set up and maintained
  • Overseeing 180-240 live jobs
Skill set
  • Degree standard education or equivalent (Prince2)
  • Outstanding problem-solving and influencing skills
  • Ability to prepare concise reports and prepare and deliver quality PowerPoint presentations to effectively lead discussions
  • Able to work with and manipulate spreadsheets /formulas
  • Analytical and quantitative skills
  • PC Literate - Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of operational impact related to actions/decisions
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced organisation
  • Demonstrates an effective communication style, with the ability to adapt
