Position Summary

The Strategy team sits at the heart of UM EMEA, ensuring that strategic thinking is embedded within our flagship clients, including Spotify, Johnson & Johnson, Dyson, and Just Eat.\xe2\x80\x8b We often wear different hats, supporting wider UM initiatives, and are always \'in the room\' for a pitch, telling compelling stories that bring our response to life.\xe2\x80\x8b

As a regional team, we work closely with local markets, with occasional opportunities to travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for leading the regional strategy for one of UM\'s flagship clients, with opportunities to support the wider team on other clients. \xe2\x80\x8b
  • This role requires you to build innovative strategies; from annual planning, to briefs for new brand and product launches. \xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b
  • You will work closely with research, analytics, planning, performance teams, and local markets, to ensure that the plans remain true to the strategic platform.\xe2\x80\x8b
  • You will be responsible for building strong relationships with senior clients, internal teams, and agency counterparts, positioning UM as a valued strategic partner.
Broader Responsibilities\xe2\x80\x8b * Management of junior members to help elevate the team, arming them with the knowledge and expertise to confidently progress. You will also support the Head of Strategy to maintain a team culture that supports each other, collaborates, and has fun. \xe2\x80\x8b
  • Local market development. Supporting the Head of Strategy in training and building relationships with our counterpart teams in local markets to drive consistency across our region.\xe2\x80\x8b
  • Thought leadership that contributes to the culture and identity of UM EMEA, inspiring the team and wider agency with POV, case studies, and great work.
Requirements
  • You must have strong knowledge and experience in connections planning (ideally with digital expertise).
  • You must have a core understanding of evidence-based media and marketing fundamentals and be able to apply this theory with strategic and creative smarts to inform and inspire every element of communications planning.
  • Ability to build trusted and enjoyable relationships with senior clients, agency counterparts and UM\'s network.
  • You must be an excellent storyteller, with an ability to interpret data from multiple sources to uncover powerful insights that can be leveraged in the development of innovative strategies. \xe2\x80\x8b
  • Confidence in presenting to big groups of people, including senior clients, other agencies and internal teams
  • Regional experience, working with multiple markets on delivering responses to briefs\xe2\x80\x8b is desirable.
