Salary


Competitive starting salary range from 46,115 up to 52,597 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.

The Role

Student Wellbeing Services wishes to appoint a Student Disability and Wellbeing Support Lead. Working with the Director of Student Welfare and Health, the postholder will provide strategic disability and wellbeing leadership across the University Group. To lead the provision and delivery of professional disability and wellbeing support services to students.



Providing disability expertise, management, advice, and guidance. Supporting University Group staff on all matters which include psychological, practical, and personal issues related to student wellbeing. Responding to critical incidents and assessing risk, making immediate referrals, and taking follow-up actions which can involve legal services, the police, public health, and other statutory agencies.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of disabled students and of the University's legal obligations under the Equalities Act (2010). You will line manage a team of Disability and Wellbeing Officers, provide comprehensive disability-related advice and guidance, implement disability and wellbeing support in line with regulatory and legislative guidelines.



You will have experience of working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, working in a management role and managing a caseload of students in a post 16 setting. Identifying the support needs of students, understanding of the legislative, financial, and regulatory frameworks within disability in a HE setting. Ensuring that the University Group is providing appropriate support and interventions under a duty of Care responsibility. To lead continuous improvement of inclusive practice and to enhance the experience, engagement, and student outcomes.
